Testing Website Development

There are two different types of testing that needs to be done before launching

Technical testing – this checks to see if the website performs as designed. It searches for broken links that don’t work correctly in a particular browser

Usability testing – This is to check if it can be easily used.

Search engine optimization (SEO)

When being the owner of a website search results matter. It can determine if your website will be clicked on the most or the least. The higher rankings you have the easier it is for people to find you.

I plan to use SEO for my website by first coming up with a title that users may be looking for like “Hair for Beginners” , second I will use links that will relate to what the user will be looking for , last I will choose my words wisely throughout my website so that people searching for hair growth tips can come across my site.

Disadvantage

It takes a long time to build for generating tangible results from all your efforts. If you want or need immediate results from your campaign, then SEO may not be a good route for you.

SEO Will Require A Big Investment For Competitive Niche you may most likely end up soliciting and hiring external help to build all organic links and other SEO marketing activities if you really want to generate substantial results from all your marketing efforts.

You will have no full control. No one knows what Google’s algorithms are asking for . What you think matters in search rankings may deliver results that are opposite from what you are expecting. You have no control of how much traffic you will generate and what type of traffic you will be getting from all your SEO efforts.

Due to the way things are with social media, many people do anything to go viral to become Facebook famous , an Instagram celebrity or Youtube famous. What started as a way to bring people closer together is now a way to make money and a career. Virality is now a part of everyday life .

Cyber Security is important because it helps protect an organization’s data from digital attacks that could damage the organization or individuals if placed in the wrong hands. Medical, government, corporate and financial records all hold personal information.

Although all of these are something a journalist should be concerned about and take precautions, as a Future journalist I would be most concerned with hacking . This is because if you have information on an article that no one else has other journalists who don’t abide by communication ethics could swipe the information from your computer and could use it for their personal gain.

Phishing is another cyber attack which is much like hacking. It is the attempt to obtain sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by disguising oneself as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. Everything about cyber attacks are designed to deceive the user and as a journalist it is even more important to protect your data.

How would CA 260 be different if it were taught entirely online?

Teaching CA 260 in class could possibly be the long way of teaching web design. The class I currently take is partially online and partially in class. Due to the corona-virus we have switched to completely online. In my opinion you could get more information from physically being in class. The instructor could clarify more on different types of web design in depth. Iam also a student who prefers face-to-face contact because it could lead to more questions. Also when yo are in class other students asking questions that you wouldn’t have thought of .There is not a big difference between in class CA260 and online CA260 due to the fact that most of the work is done on a computer with very clear instructions. It also depends on how your instructor is teaching the class. As long as the student and the teacher have good communication when stumbling upon something that could be confusing the online class is a way you can in a way get your work done at your own pace. Online for CA260 Web Design is much better than the physical way of learning and it is easier to apply it to the real world.

I picked this one because when you’re running a business you want everything easy to find and easy to navigate. Compared to the other options Joomla, Drupal, this seemed to be the best option due to the fact that it was easy for the creator of the website and the person viewing it.

What if you will have to leave a future class early and you want to contact your instructor to let them know in advance . How would you address your professor.

Professionalism encompasses a student’s behavior, appearance, and university ethics. Students who have high standards of professionalism are frequently perceived as being more credible and reliable. As a result, professional students are frequently regarded as leaders. The way you approach someone about a situation is very crucial to if you will get your problem resolved or make something worse. In my experience if I email my instructor and tell he or she my situation they will accommodate me by either letting me complete an assignment early or submitting partial late credit. As long as I approach them being known for previously completing my assignments and show I am motivated in the class usually my request is granted and the professor will work with me. If I will have to leave a class early and need to contact my instructor to let them know in advance my email to them would say “Good Morning Professor I will have to leave class early and would like to know what the agenda is for class. If any assignments are due is it possible I finish them early so I will not have a penalty . Please message back as soon as possible.” In my opinion this is a very effective way to communicate with your professor or even your future employer. Having good communication skills is important because it can make you have a great experience or a bad experience. You may not always receive the response you feel that you deserve but carrying your self in a professional manner is much more valuable.

A: Its drag-and-drop editor makes it easy peasy lemon squeezy to use, while its large variety of features and apps means your site will be able to catch and keep the readers attention.

I Chose Weebly for my site because not only do I have to accomplish creating a website in class but I also may need it in the future to promote myself as I major in communications. I could upload videos of my work to my site and allow employers to view my experience in the communication field. Although my assignment for class is on Hair growth products and other products that can help with kinky curly hair texture , promoting my communication experience is what I will use it for in the long run.

My Experience using Weebly

In my opinion weebly was challenging to edit , but going into it thinking that it was going to be as easy as setting up facebook may have been a factor. I will definitely be changing my theme because I am still trying to get the hang of it. However it is just a matter of time before my website is everything I wanted.
