First Impressions

Five Big Tips To make your website manageable and successful for you and your users.

Building a great homepage for your website is probably the most important step to your entire site. It will be the first thing users see when your website pops up on their screen. First impressions are everything. An unorganized home page can lead to less of an audience due to the fact that everything they may have been looking for couldn’t easily be found. This day and age everything is accessed by the quick click of a button therefore most people are too impatient to figure a website out , so the homepage must be easy as one two three.

Here are some tips to help you design your homepage.

Tip 1.

Your homepage  should look much different than the other pages of your website. You are trying to lure your audience into your page. Think of it as the introduction to a paper you are writing. You have to grab the reader’s attention.

Tip 2.

People should be able to click through your homepage that leads them deeper into your website to other content. On my website I Am creating a hair blog. On my homepage it will have different textures of hair. From there you will determine your hair type and the one you select should lead you to more products and styles that you would most likely be looking for.

Tip.3

Your homepage should function as a table of contents so when people view your page it will be easy to navigate. On the side of my home page I plan to have a spot for viewers to click so they can decide if they are looking for a hair product ,a hairstyle , a hair routine or if they just wanted to view tips from other people’s experience with their hair and how certain things worked for them.

Tip 4

Having some type of engagement media on your website is important. When someone accesses your page they should be able to immediately engage with you.

Tip 5

Have a scroll-able homepage because audiences enjoy scrolling the web. You want to clearly communicate through visual imagery, highlighted words , and bold words.
