“To Do or Not to Do”

A Successful Blog !!

Blogging is an informational discussion website uploaded to the World Wide Web. Its an online journal displaying posts from oldest to most recent. Bloggs encourage viewers to have a vocal opinion on subjects they may not feel comfortable voicing in person. Getting people together to share ideas and viewpoints has its pros and cons. The pro is that readers can receive a better outlook on the topic and the con is that some viewers may become offended from another’s comment. That being said there are some do’s and dont’s to blogging.

One of the main reasons people subscribe to a blog is because they have something in common with the author. They may want to find out more or get their questions answered about the similar interest. Staying on topic is very critical when blogging because you do not want to lose your reader’s attention. Being lengthy can bore your reader and it may lead to them unsubscribing. Posts should be short enough to keep the reader reading but long enough to get the point across. Shining a positive light on yourself is always a great way to keep people interested. Give your readers a reason to continue reading your posts.

One thing that I can do better after reading the articles is not only making my posts more interesting ,by having shorter paragraphs but also an interesting title to lure them in. It is brought to my attention that many people read blogs on their laptop or tablets and it may be tiresome to read.

Constructive criticism is something I hope my subscribers will do when they comment . If they feel like I should go into deeper detail and elaborate on a topic I am open to new suggestions.

Career Tools

My dream job is to become a major talk show hostess. Most talk show hostesses have a blog. This is where these do’s and donts come into play. My audience will be my paycheck in my field therefore it is important that I keep them scrolling and clicking on my page.

These are steps I plan to take to ensure my posts are easiest to comprehend:

  • Writing shorter paragraphs to keep my audience intrigued
  • Being myself
  • Adding more links and pictures
